Ranjith's Indian Rupee is a prequel to Pranchiyettan

Filmmaker Ranjith is making his comeback with his next film after his blockbuster movie Pranchiyettan and the Saint. His latest movie Indian Rupee is an action thriller, which is currently being shot in Kerala. The director says that the Malayalam movie is a prequel to Pranchiyettan.

In Pranchiyettan and the Saint, hero Pranchiyettan is a rich man, who is fleeing after fame and honour. The hero of Indian Rupee considers money as everything in his life. Talking about the film, director Ranjith says, "In that sense, the film is a prequel to Pranchiyettan."

Besides direction, Ranjith has also written the story and screenplay for the movie Indian Rupee. Actor Prithviraj and actress Rima Kallingal are playing the lead roles. Suresh Gopi and Thilakan are playing important roles in the film, which also features Jagathy, Lalu Alex and Salim Kumar in key roles.
