S. Janaki receives first M.S. Baburaj award

Renowned playback singer S. Janaki received the first M.S Baburaj foundation award for her outstanding contribution to the Malayalam music industry. Director Kamal presented the award in a function organised at Kodugallur police station ground.

The award of one lakh rupees along with a momento was conferred to S. Janaki at an event organised in remembrance of music composer Baburaj.

Paying tribute to the legendary music composer, S. Janaki sang the first line of Deva...Deva ..'. The music of the song was composed by M.S. Baburaj and lyrics was penned by the late P. Bhaskaran.

The event, inaugurated by minister K.B. Ganesh Kumar was presided over by T.N. Prathapan. Ravi Menon, critic and journalist delivered the memorial speech. The event was followed by a music concert.
