Santhosh Sivan plans to release Urumi in 70 theatres

Malayalam movie Urumi is all set to hit the screens on 31st March. It is much-hyped and much-anticipated film of the year. Director Santhosh Sivan has planned to release it in 70 theatres. It is report that it will have multiple release centres in big metroes like Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Kozhikkodu.

Now, many film experts are left with wonder by the Santhosh Sivan's decision to release his movie Urumi in just 70 cinema halls, when it has has garnered lot of hype and publicity before its release. Trade analysts opine that with the limited release of film bosses hope to get word-of-mouth.

Urumi is a period film, which is set in 15th century. This movie revolves around a boy, who wants to kill Vasco Da Gama. It is a tale of romance, friendship and revenge. It traces the arrival of the first white man, the gun, canon and other early weapons of war.

Prithviraj is playing a leader for plotting the death of Vasco Da Gama, while Genelia D'Souza appears as the Portuguese princess. Prabhu Deva and Vidya Balan are also playing important roles in it. Now, Santosh Sivan is hoping it very high from the movie Urumi. The director-cum-producer says that it is targeted at mass audience.
