Sarath Kumar replaces Mohanlal in Veeraputhran

Superstar Mohanlal will be replaced by Sarath Kumar in Director PT Kunju Muhammed's historic movie Veeraputhran.

Mohanlal, who was expected to do a cameo in Veeraputhran has backed out as he is busy shooting for Roshan Andrew's Casanova.

The shooting for Veeraputhran, due to release on October 14 is almost complete, leaving aside the segment to be shot by Mohanlal. However, Mohanlal is too busy and is unable to find time for Veeraputhran. The makers, thus decided to approach Sarath Kumar for the role.

In the movie, Sarath kumar will don the role of a history professor who is researching on anti-British movements in Malabar. Sarath Kumar will stumble upon the life and history of many prominent leaders including freedom fighter Mohammed Abdul Rahiman who was the KPCC President thrice. Veeraputhran explores the life and struggle of Rahiman.

Narain plays Mohammed Abdul Rahiman in the film. Actress Raima Sen, who makes her debut in Mollywood with Veeraputhran will essay the role of his wife, Kunhi Beevathu.
