has
become
a
new
member
of
the
Central
Board
of
Film
Certification
(CBFC).
The
National
Award-winning
director
has
been
appointed
by
the
Information
&
Broadcasting
Ministry
for
a
term
of
three
years.
Shaji
N
Karun
debuted
in
films
through
Piravi
in
1988
and
has
directed
several
National
award
winning
films
so
far.
He
was
the
Premiere
Chairman
of
the
Kerala
State
Chalanchitra
Academy.
He
was
also
the
Executive
Chairman
of
International
Film
Festival
of
Kerala
from
1998
to
2001.
The
membership
of
CBFC
is
the
latest
honour
to
the
Nationally-acclaimed
director.

Leela
Samson
has
been
appointed
as
the
Chairperson
of
the
CBFC.
Along
with
Shaji
N
Karun,
theatre
artists
like
Amal
Allana,
Arundhati
Nag,
MK
Raina,
scriptwriter
Anjum
Rajabali,
poetess
Mamang
Dai,
author
Dipesh
Mehta
and
Ira
Bhaskar
have
also
made
it
to
the
panel.
