Swetha Menon has opposed the government's decision to ban cinematic dance in private and Govt. run schools. She has expressed her concerns over the prohibition, as the actress believes that it is not an ideal solution for the issue.
The actress says that the main focus should be on the attires, which the children wear, and the presentation. It is the responsibility of the concerned people to make sure that the dress should not look indecent or in bad taste.
It may be recalled that APM Mohammad Hanish, Director, Public Instructions, issued a ban on cinematic dance being taught in all government aided, unaided schools in Kerala on July 31. The district education authorities were instructed to enforce the order in 14,000 schools with immediate effect.
In his statement, Hanish said, “It has come to our notice that certain private organisations and TV channels are promoting cinematic dance in schools all over the state. It has reached ridiculous levels with classrooms are being used for cinematic dance training."
