Thilakan coming back to silver screen

Senior Malayalam actor Thilakan, who has been expelled from AMMA last year, is now all set to make his comeback to silver screen with the movie Chungakkarum Veshyakalum. The controversial actor is said to be playing an important role in the film, which has been delayed for a long time. If sources are to believe, it is set to release across the state this weekend.

Chungakkarum Veshyakalum, which is a strange title, means 'tax collectors and prostitutes'. Isaac Thomas has written story screenplay for the film. It deals with the story of a Malayalee family that had emigrated to Canada years back. Noted actor Achenkunju, child artist Jason Mathew, Anu Thahim, R. Panicker, Kumar Varma, Ashok, Sreejith are in the star cast.

The film has been directed by Isaac Thomas and produced by VB Krishna Das under the banner of Maharshi Films. Biju Paulose and Bichchu Thirumala have composed the songs for the film, which have been sung by MG Sreekumar and KS Chithra. Canadian editor Peter Shvab has handled the editing work for the film, which is said to have been made in Malayalam and English simultaneously.

Made in digital mode, Chungakkarum Veshyakalum has entirely been shot in Canada. Cinematographer Jayanan Vincent has cranked camera for the film. He is said to have captured the breathtaking beauty of Calgary, Edmonton, the Lake Louise and the Columbia ice fields. Sources say that the movie is sure to impress the Malayalam audience.
