Siddique criticises National Awards jury for excluding Oomakkuyil Padumpol

Malayalam débutante director Siddique Chennamangalur raised his doubts over the way in which the regional jury select films for competition in the National Awards. Siddique Chennamangalur's film Oomakkuyil Padumpol was not included in competition at the National Awards.

Hurt by the non inclusion of his film Oomakkuyil Padumpol at the 59th National Awards, Siddique Chennamangalur asked reporters the yardstick adopted by the regional jury for ignoring his film.

The director further added that Oomakkuyil Padumpol is doing extremely well in North Malabar and said that he would submit complaints to the National jury and State cultural department for not considering the film for competition.

Siddique has also demanded for details about number of members in the regional jury panel along with the number of film entries and films that were excluded.
