Suresh Gopi's mother V Gyanalakshmi Amma passes away

V Gyanalakshmi Amma (72), mother of Suresh Gopi passed away on Saturday at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. She suffered a heart attack on Friday morning and immediately underwent a surgery. However, the doctors were unable to save her and she died the following day. It was confirmed later that Lakshmi Amma succumbed to Dengue fever.

V Gyanalakshmi Amma is wife of late Gopinathan Pillai, a film distributor (hails from Kollam). The body of V Gyanalakshmi Amma was kept at Suresh Gopi's residence for homage in Sasthamangalam. The funeral took place at Thycaud Santhikavadam on Sunday.

The funeral was attended by well-known celebrities including Mammootty and Chief Minister Ommen Chandy. Suresh Gopi's other siblings include Subhash Gopi, Sanal Gopi and Sunil Gopi are her other children.
