T Damodaran, Malayalam scriptwriter passes away

Noted Malayalam script writer, T Damodaran died in Calicut early this morning following a massive heart attack.

Damodaran (77) is survived by three daughters. One of his daughters named Deedi Damodaran is an upcoming scriptwriter.

T Damodaran had written scripts for over 50 Malayalam films, including some of the blockbusters like Kalapani, Angadi, Eee Nadu, Aryan, Avanazhi, Vartha and Adimagal Udamagal. Damodaran had also acted in a few films.

T Damodaran is known to have written scripts that made superstars out of Mammootty, Mohanlal and Suresh Gopi. T Damodaran, along with director IV Sasi and Priyadarshan wrote many scripts for the three stars during 1980s and 1990s.

T Damodaran began his career as a physical education instructor in a school before embarking on a career as a scriptwriter. Damodaran initially wrote for Malayalam dramas before moving into the film industry.
