Vindhyan,
who
produced
super
hit
films
such
as
Shalini
Ente
Koottukari
and
Vadakkunokki
Yanthram
among
many
others,
died
at
a
private
hospital
in
Kochi
on
Saturday.
He
was
61.
His
body
was
cremated
on
Sunday
at
Thriprayar,
which
is
his
native
place.
Producer
Vindhyan,
who
produced
and
even
wrote
scripts
for
few
of
the
biggest
blockbusters
in
Mollywood
had
also
acted
in
Kerala
Cafe
in
the
anthology
co-ordinated
by
Ranjith.
He
also
acted
in
Shyama
Prasad's
film.
Vindhyan
was
hospitalised
recently
following
a
brief
illness.
The
producer
was
responding
well
to
treatment
some
time
back,
but
his
condition
became
worse
on
Saturday
and
he
breathed
his
last.
The
body
was
later
taken
to
his
home
at
Peringottukara
near
Triprayar
in
Thrissur
district.
The
cremation
took
place
in
his
residence
compound
around
2.30
pm.
Vindhyan
is
survived
by
wife
Soya,
daughter
Puthuma
and
son
Novel.
