Actress Shalu Menon Moves HC For Bail

Shalu Menon, the second accused in the solar panel scandal, has moved her bail application in the High Court. She was rejected bail by Thrissur First Class Magistrate earlier. She moved the High Court through advocate P Vijayabhanu. It was reported that kingpin Biju Radhakrishnan embezzled Rs 75 lakh from NRI businessman Rafiq Aly, with the help of Shalu Menon.

Shalu was arrested from her house on July 6, by the Changanacherry police. The actress had earlier said that she was unaware of Biju's background and his tainted business activities. She added that she and her mother got acquainted with Biju around nine months ago and maintained a good relationship with him. Later on she admitted that she had been involved in the scandal.

The accused Saritha Nair claimed that Biju Radhakrishnan and Shalu Menon were planning to get married. Biju, on the other hand, is charged with murdering his wife.

According to sources, Biju Radhakrishnan asked permission for meeting Shalu, in order to seek her help in getting bail. He made this request when he was produced before the court, but he was denied permission.

Shalu is more popular as a dancer rather than an actor. Her last released movie was Pathiramanal, starring Unni Mukundan and Remya Nambeesan.
