American Junction: A Movie On Mimicry Troupe

It has been a very long time since the Malayalam industry got a chance to see a movie, which is based on mimicry. Earlier, right from Kasargod Kader Bhai to Mimics Action 500, there were many movies released in the industry to entertain the people, focussing on the mimic skill of the actors. Now, Thomas Thoppilkudi, who is a famous personality in the same field is all set to make a movie which tells the story about a mimicry troupe, titled American Junction.

American Junction, which is made in the backdrop of mimicry troupe, will see Sruthi Lakshmi, Devika, Vivek, Salim Kumar, Tini Tom, Rakesh Kalabhavan, Jobi Kalabhavan, Jayaprakash Nedumangad and Shobha Nair. There are a number of well known mimicry artists along with the main cast.

Antony, Lalu, Joe, Ramesan and Nayana are the members of a mimicry troupe. They have good income from their programs, but they are always into problems and worries. Since, they are very popular for their skills, they are invited to do a stage program in America. The troupe leaves to United States, but on reaching there, they come to know about a sad news. After returning, they start living separately, finding their own means to make the two ends meet. Among them, another group gets connected to a mentally retarded girl Shalini and then the story turns into another path. This forms the plot of the story.

American Junction has its cinematography done by Reji V Kumar. Music is scored by Vinayan. Screenplay is written by the director Thomas Thoppilkudi.
