Oommen Chandy, the Chief Minster of Kerala, recently found some time out of busy political schedule to meet Malayalam comedian Jagathy Sreekumar, who has been restricted to a wheelchair after surviving a near fatal accident a year ago. Along with his family, the CM visited at Jagathy's son's residence at Peyad in the outskirts of the city on Friday and wished the actor a speedy recovery.

Jagathy Sreekumar, who looked all thrilled at CM's arrival, smiled at Oommen Chandy on seeing him. The CM held his hand and spoke to him affectionately for some time. Meanwhile, he wished the actor a speedy recovery. Chief minster's wife Mariamma said that she had a stroke a few years ago and faced similar situation. She consoled the family stating he would gradually recover.

Talking to Chandy, Jagathy's wife Sobha said that her ailing husband would speak two or three words and is showing great improvement. She explained that Jagathy has been undergoing Ayurvedic treatment and doctors from Vellore Medical college visit him regularly to check his health condition.

When asked about seeking financial assistance from the government, Sobha said that at present, the family is able to afford all his medical expenses. She added that her husband does not like seeking any help from others. The government has offered to help if they need any further assistance.

When chief minister and family got up to leave, Sobha said to Jagathy, "All of them are praying for your speedy recovery." In response Jagathy lifted his left palm as if to say goodbye.

On Friday, Chief Minster Oommen Chandy met Malayalam comedian Jagathy Sreekumar, who was all excited to receive him.

Oommen Chandy held Jagathy Sreekumar's hand and spoke to him affectionately for some time. He wished him speedy recovery.

The CM has also brought his family to Jagathy's son's residence. Wife Mariamma consoled his family stating that he would gradually recover.

Oommen Chandy spoke to Jagathy's son for sometime and enquired about his financial condition. He assured to provide financial support from the Govt if they needed it.

But Jagathy's wife Shobha declined to take Oommen Chandy's financial help as her husband does not like seeking any help from others.
