Award

Best
Movie

the
Festival.
The
awards
are
announced
on
8th
May
2013
at
the
Awards
Night
in
Mega
Blitz
Cinema,
Jakarta,
Indonesia.
Sohan
Roy,
Director
of
DAM
999
received
the
awards
in
the
presence
of
Minter
of
Health
and
Damien
Dematra,
the
Founder
of
festival.
The
International
Film
Festival
for
Environment,
Health
and
Culture,
is
a
largest
film
awards
events
in
Indonesia
to
promote
films
pertaining
to
environment,
health
and
culture
issues.
Being
a
movie
which
tribute
to
the
1975
Banqiao
Dam
disaster
in
China
that
claimed
250,000
innocent
lives,
DAM
999
was
handling
a
very
serious
issue
in
the
backdrop
of
a
Dam
disaster.
The
relevance
of
movie
in
connection
with
the
environment
and
its
peculiarity
in
making
impressed
the
jury
a
lot
which
ended
up
in
opting
it
for
the
Best
Movie
of
the
Festival.
The
movie
is
all
about
the
tale
of
a
100
year
old
cracking
dam
built
during
colonial
rule
and
revolves
around
9
characters
and
their
emotions.
"It
is
a
moment
of
glory
and
pride
for
the
entire
team
and
I
am
very
proud
to
win
this
award," said
Sohan
Roy
while
receiving
the
award.
The
movie
was
screened
last
night
at
Blitz
Megaplex,
Jakarta
as
a
part
of
festival
screening
which
received
a
huge
round
of
applauds
and
appreciations.
Dam
999
was
contented
for
84th
Academy
Awards
under
3
different
categories
the
Best
Original
Song,
Best
Original
Score
and
Best
Picture.
Soon
after
this,
it
was
also
selected
for
21st
Golden
Rooster
Film
Festival
which
is
getting
popular
as
Chinese
Oscar.
The
curtain
raiser
documentary
of
the
movie
‘Dams-
the
lethal
water
bombs'
has
also
received
more
than
25
prestigious
festival
appearances
and
awards
till
the
date.
