I Will Not Play Sethurama Iyer CBI Again, Says Mammootty

Mammootty has many roles credited to his career list. Some have been so powerful that even after many years, people still remember him in those roles. One such character is that of Sethurama Iyer. He played the character, who is a CBI officer. Now, when the fifth series of the movie is on the making, Mammootty has confirmed that he will not play the role of Sethurama Iyer again!

Mammootty said that he is not interested to be a part of the Sethurama Iyer series again. He said that the movie might be a hit after the release, but as an actor it will not do any good to him portraying the same character repeatedly. Adding on, he also said that he will not any in any of the series in future.

Now, director K Madhu has already started on his project of the fifth series of the CBI version. Since Mammootty stepped back, he has roped in Suresh Gopi to play the role in the new version. Remember, Suresh Gopi was a part of the first series, where he played the role of inspector Harry. But, he was not seen in any of the later series.

After Mammootty declined the offer to play Sethurama Iyer once again, it is reported that the script writer approached Suresh Gopi to play the lead. When Suresh Gopi agreed, the writer re-wrote the script in favour of Harry.
