After
acting
in
over
350
films,
popular
Malayalam
film
comedian
Indrans
showcased
his
villainous
side
in
recently
released
Pottas
Bomb,
directed
by
Suresh
Achoos.
The
story
follows
four
youngsters
escaping
from
a
juvenile
home
with
the
dream
of
making
money
and
having
a
good
time
but
get
involved
in
a
murder.
"I
am
their
protector
in
a
colony.
It
is
a
different
character
altogether
from
the
ones
I
have
been
playing
so
far," Indrans
told
PTI.
Indrans
made
his
way
in
the
industry
as
a
costume
designer.
His
first
break
came
was
Choothatam
in
1985.
Initially
he
did
both
costume
designing
and
acting
in
minor
roles.
"I
was
already
in
the
industry
as
a
costume
designer
and
opportunities
to
act
in
films
came
naturally.
I
must
have
designed
costumes
for
over
100
films," he
said.
The
Malayalam
movie
CID
Unnikrishnan
BA
BEd,
starring
Jayaram
released
in
1994,
was
a
turning
point
in
his
career.
The
film
was
sort
of
paying
a
tribute
to
Malayalam
movie's
evergreen
hero,
the
late
Prem
Nazir,
who
played
several
CID
roles.
Jayaram
as
Unnikrishnan,
dreams
of
becoming
a
CID
like
his
hero
Nazir
and
Indrans
is
his
best
friend
in
the
film.
Indrans' lean
figure
and
peculiar
way
of
delivering
his
dialogue
and
mannerisms
appealed
to
filmgoers
and
soon
he
was
a
permanent
feature
in
almost
every
movie.
He
also
feels
his
role
in
the
Mohanlal
starrer
Spadikam,
which
was
a
big
hit,
also
got
him
good
reviews
He
also
did
the
costume
designing
in
the
movie,
which
earned
him
accolades.
