Jayasurya-Nyla in Punyalan Agarbattis

Punyalan Agarbattis is an upcoming film, directed by Ranjith Sankar. It has Jayasurya and radio jockey turned actor Nyla Usha playing the lead roles. It's a comedy film that involves Joy Thakkolkkaran, a wannabe entrepreneur from Thrissur.

Punyalan Agarbattis is being produced jointly by Jayasurya and Ranjith Sankar, who shot to fame with Passenger. Ranjith has also directed Arjunan Sakshi and Molly Aunty Rocks, and has also announced two more projects, Mayflower and Sudhi Valmeekam.

Nyla Usha has recently completed the shooting of Kunjananthante Kada, directed by National award winning filmmaker Salim Ahmad. This movie has Mammootty playing the lead role. Nyla plays the female lead and is seen as a village girl. But in Punyalan, she does the role of a modern wife, who works in the Telecom sector.

The movie is developed on the backdrop of Thrissur. The other cast in the film includes Rachana Narayanankutty, Aju Varghese, TG Ravi, Mala Aravindan, Sunil Sukhada, Edavela Babu, Shivaji Guruvayur, who are seen in supporting roles. The shooting of the film is expected to go on floors by Onam.
