It's the fourth year without Lohithadas

Lohithadas, the veteran director and the screenplay writer, is still being remembered even on the fourth year of his day of demise. He is very much renowned by the Malayalam industry for his extensive contribution.

Lohithadas started off his career as a scriptwriter for Malayalam theatre in 1986 and won his first State Award for the best play. After this success he came into the Malayalam film industry when he was introduced by the veteran actor Thilakan. He got his first remarkable success by writing the script for Thaniyavarthanam for Sibi Malayil and later for Kireedam. Their team, later was successful and gave the industry the best films ever. These includes Dasharatham, His Highness Abdullah, Kamaladalam, Chenkol, Bharatham, etc.

He started his directorial venture with Bhoothakkannadi starring Mammootty and Sreelakshmi, which was a real depiction of human psychology and won the National Award for it. His other ventures as a director includes Arayannagalude Veedu, Kaarunyam, Kanmdam, Joker, Kasthooriman and Nivedhyam. Nivedhyam was his last directed movie and got the Film Critics Award for the Best Director. He introduced two new faces Vinu Mohan and Bhama through this flick. Meera Jasmine was also introduced by him through his own directed and written Soothradharan. He has won almost nine awards in his career, which depicts his success.

Regarding his personal life, he married Sindhu and has two sons, Harishankar and Vijayshankar. He died of heart-attack on 28 June 2009, but he is still remembered for his films.
