Amala Paul can be regarded as a rising star in Kollywood. The actress shot to famous with her debut Tamil movie Mynaa. She did won much appreciation for her performance in the same. Though she was seen in the cameo role in the Lal Jose movie Neelathamara, Ithu Nammude Katha is her first recognised movie.

Amala Paul is back again with a bang in Kollywood with her upcoming Thalaivaa. The movie has Illayathalapathy Vijay playing the lead role. Amala plays his lady love in Thalaivaa. Ragini Nandwani, Rajiv Pillai, Santhanam and Sathyaraj are seen in supportive roles. The film is also being dubbed into Telugu as Anna - Born to Lead.

Recently, Amala has tweeted that she has been signed for her next film directed by Velraj. And guess what, this time she will be seen opposite Dhanush! This untitled movie is expected to be another milestone in Amala's career. It has been reported that Dhanush himself is producing the film under his own banner.

Thalaivaa is getting released on August 9. This much hyped movie can be regarded as another feather to her career.

Run Baby Run

Mohanlal and Amala Paul played lead roles in this film. The film, which had news media as the backdrop. Mohanlal essayed the role of a channel cameraman Venu and Amala Paul of a senior editor Renuka. The story showcased their relationship and professional conflicts.

Mynaa

This was her first Tamil movie in a lead role. Amala played the title role. She won the Vijay Award for the Best Debut Actress for Mynaa (2010). She was also nominated for the Filmfare and Vijay Awards for Best Actress.

Thalaivaa

This is her upcoming Tamil movie opposite Vijay. Directed by AL Vijay, the movie has already hit the charts. The audio of the movie was launched and both Vijay and Amala are said to share a good onscreen chemistry.

Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal

This Tamil film was directed by Elred Kumar, and had Atharvaa and Amala Paul playing lead roles. Jayaprakash, Anupama Kumar, Santhanam, Yashika and Nassar were seen in the supporting roles. Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal has been screened at prestigious film festivals like Cannes Film Festival.

Kadhalail Soddhappuvadhu Yeppadi

Amala was seen playing the role of Parvathi in this Tamil movie. She was nominated for the Filmfare Best Actress In Tamil (2012), for her performance in the same.
