Mohanlal to star in Puneet Rajkumar's Kannada movie

Thiruvananthapuram: Of late, Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal is having a tough time at the Mollywood Box Office and his recent outings have struggled to make it big at the ticket windows. Now, the sources from the industry claim that he has planned to try out his luck in other languages. So the actor is on signing spree in other languages. He is ready to feature in Powerstar Puneet Rajkumar's upcoming Kannada movie.

Sources say that Mohanlal had a good run at the Box Office in 2012 with his movies Spirit, Grand Master, Run Baby Run turning out to be big money spinners. But other movies released later didn't receive the same response at Box Office. Hence, he has planned to do other language movies until he receives a good script to make his way to Mollywood in a bang.

Sources continue to say that Mohanlal has already committed to appear in Ilayathalapathy Vijay's upcoming Tamil movie. Even much before starting its filming, he has signed to star in another non-Malayalam flick. That is in Puneet Rajkumar's Kannada film, which is produced by Raghavendra Rajkumar under his home banner Poornima Enterprises. He is likely to shoot for it in May 2013.

It should be mentioned here that Puneet Rajkumar's film is not Mohanlal's first movie in Kannada. In 2005, Mohanlal has already debuted in Sandalwood with Rajendra Singh Babu's Love starring Aditya and Rakshitha in leads. It was an extended cameo role and he had played a taxi driver in the film. It should be seen whether he is playing a lead role in his latest Kannada film or not.
