Mohanlal's Film Uyarangalil Gets A Remake!

Yesteryear Uyarangalil is a 1983 movie, directed by IV Sasi. Mohanlal, Nedumudi Venu, Rahman, Kajal Kiran, Swapna and Ratheesh were seen in the lead roles. This movie is now getting its remake. Director Joemon is remaking this movie after 30 long years.

MT Vasudevan Nair, who did the scripting for the 1983 version, is said to be working on the scripts of the remake, with some changes. Vaisakha Rajan will be producing this film.

Mohanlal was seen as villain Jayarajan in Uyarangalil. Director Joemon plans to cast Mohanlal as hero in the remake version too. He played a cunning assistant manager of a tea plantation, who is also a flirt.

Jayarajan wanted to gain money by any means. For this he lures two debt-ridden subordinates, Chandran (Rahman) and Johnny (Nedumudi Venu), into his conspiracy. On their attempt, the Manager of the company catches them red-handed. To stop him from disclosing their mistake, Jayarajan kills the manager.

Jayarajan continues his activities of flirting with women and money making. But later Chandran feels guilty and with the help of another, he tries to trap Jayarajan under police custody. But, finding he is about to be caught, Jayarajan commits suicide.
