Priyadarshan,
who
is
one
of
the
most
renowned
directors
in
Bollywood
as
well
as
in
the
South,
said
that
he
will
be
resigning
from
his
post
as
the
Chairman
of
the
Chalachitra
Academy
after
the
film
festival
gets
over.
It
has
been
three
long
years
since
Priyadarshan
has
become
the
chairman
of
the
academy.
Ever
since
then,
he
had
brought
in
many
changes
in
the
functioning
of
the
academy
as
well
in
the
hosting
the
film
festival
of
Kerala.
This
year,
when
Kerala
hosted
its
18th
International
Film
Festival
of
Kerala,
there
were
disputes
among
the
people
regarding
the
age
of
the
Malayalam
cinema.
Director
Kamal
and
many
others
shared
their
strong
disagreement
for
the
same
issue,
which
later
got
subsided
after
the
chairman
Priyadarshan
apologised
to
them.

It
has
now
been
a
day
after
the
incident
had
happened
and
Priyadarshan
has
announced
his
retirement
from
the
post.
He
became
the
chairman
in
2011.
Priyan
said,
"This
is
my
third
year
as
the
chairman
of
Chalachitra
Academy
and
my
last
film
festival
as
the
chairman.
I
will
be
resigning
from
the
post
after
the
film
festival
gets
over.
I
was
very
satisfied
as
the
chairman
in
these
past
three
years.
I
hope
that
these
years
went
on
without
much
disputes."
Director
Kamal
has
opined
that
Priyadarshan
had
faced
many
difficulties
since
the
industry
did
not
have
a
minister
of
its
own.
