Resul Pookutty conferred with Aravindan Puraskar

Oscar winning sound engineer, Resul Pookutty received Aravindan Puraskar for his first production venture ID, instituted by Chalachitra Film Society. However, director KM Kamal was absent at the event. The award was handed over by Speaker G Karthikeyan in a function held at Thiruvananthapuram on Friday.

Tamil director Kamal Kannan received the special Jury award. The Speaker said, "Aravindan movies are unique and it surpasses the period. He was a person, who focused on issues of villages and that even reflected in the changing processes of my village."

Resul got emotional in his speech and spoke about his experiences in Thiruvananthapuram Law College. He said that the time he spent at the Pune Film Institute was extremely fulfilling as it gave him the opportunity to meet director Aravindan at that time. Director TK Rajeev Kumar was also present at the function.
