Rima Kallingal not converting to Islam for Aashiq Abu

Kochi: Actress Rima Kallingal, who is currently in live-in relationship with director Aashiq Abu, has slammed the reports that she is converted to Muslim religion. Talking to reporters in Kochi, the actress said that they are set to tie the knot very soon. She confirmed that neither her director beau has forced to change her Christian religion nor she is going to convert herself to Islam.

Recently, it was a buzz in the social networking platforms that the caste was playing spoilsport in the relationship. According to Rima's fan club, the actress was asked to convert to Islam in order to marry Aashiq. This was said to be a pre-condition set by Aashiq's family to accept their marriage. A few enthusiasts had raised the doubt whether it was Mollywood's own version of Love Jihad.

Rima Kallingal is a Christian, while Aashiq Abu belongs to Muslim community. They are in a live-in relationship to know each other better before entering wedlock. Talking about the rumours, Rima said that they are staying together and set to tie the knot soon. Though they belong to different religion, it has never been a barrier for their marriage. They are not at all worried about religion or conversion.

The actress further states neither Aashiq nor his family has asked her to convert to Islam before marriage. She is not going to opt for conversion. They are decided to go ahead with their respective religion. Meanwhile, she adds that she has already told about their love affair to her parents, who have given green signal for their relationship.
