Anoop Menon, the multi-faceted talent of Malayalam cinema entered wedlock on 27th December. The actor-scenarist married his long time friend Shema Alexander in a hush hush ceremony conducted at his residence. Anoop and Shema are very close friends since last 5 years; and later the friendship developed into love.
The marriage ceremony was held in the presence of the close family members and friends. Later, a simple get together was held for the friends from the film fraternity, family friends and relatives. As per the earlier reports, no wedding celebrations of reception were conducted regarding the wedding.
Big shots from the Malayalam movie industry, including Mammootty, Mohanlal, Dileep, directors Ranjith, Lal Jose, Menon's close buddies Shankar Ramakrishnan, director Saji Surendran, Suraj Venjarammoodu, Suresh Krishna, Kavya Madhavan, Thesni Khan, producer Shaji Nadesan, etc arrived at the get together to convey their wishes to the newly wedded couple.
Shema Alexander, who hails from Pathanapuram, is the daughter of planter-businessman Prince Alexander and late Lilly Alexander. She was earlier married to businessman Reni, who died in a heart attack 8 years back. She has a daughter, who is 16 years old now.
Anoop, who hails from Balussery, is the son of Parambath Gangadharan Menon and Indira Menon. The actor graduated in law from Government Law College, Trivandrum and was a first rank holder. He started his career with compering in various popular Malayalam television channels. Anoop later ventured into Television serials and has acted in popular serials like Swapnam, Megham etc.
He made his movie debut with Vinayan directed Kattuchembakam, in which he played a supporting role. He earned huge critical acclaims and several awards including Kerala State Film Award and Filmfare Award for his performance as super star Ajayachandran, a character loosely based on veteran actor Kamal Haasan, in the movie Thirakkatha.
