Bollywood Faces In Malayalam Films

It is a fact that Mollywood is the smallest film industry when compared to all other industries. When it comes to India, Bollywood is the biggest industry and then comes Tamil, followed by Telugu and Kannada. Many of our Mollywood stars had become a part of many of those industries and it is a proud that actors of other industries look at our stars like Mammootty and Mohanlal with respect.

Likewise, many of the Bollywood stars have acted in Malayalam movies too. Starting from Big B to the latest Genelia D'Souza, we have seen many Bollywood faces in our Malayalam films. Many of the Bollywood stars say that they would love to be a part of our industry but, the major thing that make them hesitate to be a part of the Malayalam industry is the language itself.

Many stars have said that Malayalam language is not that easily flexible to them and so lip-sync do not happen in the right way which might make it look odd. Keeping aside this factor, many have also said that after watching the real acting skill of stars like Mammootty and Mohanlal, they are just amazed.

Amitabh Bachchan

Bollywood's greatest actor Amitabh Bachchan became a part of Mollywood after he shared the screen space with Mohanlal in the movie Kandahar. It was directed by Major Ravi.

Katrina Kaif

Kat too has acted in a Malayalam movie and that too as the lead female actress pairing opposite Mammootty. She was seen playing an actress in the movie Balram Vs Thara Das.

Anupam Kher

Anupam Kher too was seen playing one of the lead roles along with Mohanlal and Jayaprada in the movie Pranayam, directed by Blessy.

Juhi Chawla

Juhi Chawla played the female lead in the movie Harikrishnans, along with the legendary stars of Mollywood - Mohanlal and Mammootty.

Jayaprada

Jayaprada has acted in more than one film in Malayalam. Apart from Pranayam, she was also seen in Devadoothan, again a Mohanlal film.

Suniel Shetty

Suniel Shetty too has been see playing guest roles in movies like Kaakkakuyil and the latest movie Kalimannu.

Jackie Shroff

Jackie Shroff played a scientist in the movie Athisayan. Kavya Madhavan and Jayasurya was also seen in lead roles in this flick.

Vidya Balan

Vidya Balan is a half Malayali. But she is more prominent in Bollywood. She was seen in the Malayalam movie Urumi along with Prithviraj and Prabhu Deva.

Pooja Batra

Pooja Batra played the female lead in the movie Megham with Mammootty and also she was one of the lead in the movie Chandralekha opposite Mohanlal.

Priya Gill

Priya Gill played one of the female leads in the movie Megham along with Mammootty, Dileep and Pooja Batra.

Isha Talwar

Isha Talwar, though a model by profession, started off her career as an actress in Mollywood and has now done quite a few movies as female lead.

Isha Sherwani

Isha Sherwani has one the female lead in the movie 5 Sundarkial, in one of the story along with Nivin Pauly. Reports claim that she has signed one more Malayalam film.
