Director Madhu Kaithapram Passed Away

National Award winning director Madhu Kaithapram passed away. The director died in a private hospital in a private hospital in Calicut due to cardiac arrest. The 44 year old was undergoing treatment for diabetes since last few months.

Madhu Kaithapram was born in Payyannur as the son of Kaithaprath K P Kunjirama Pothuval and V K Narayani. He is survived by wife Rakhi and son Sreeram.

The director, who entered the film industry as the assistant of popular director Jayaraj, made his directorial debut with the 2006 released movie Ekantham, for which he won the National Film Award for Best Debutante Director. He later directed some highly acclaimed movies including Madhyavenal, Orma Mathram and Vellivelichathil.

His movie Madhyavenal has competed in the International Film Festival of Kerala. Madhu's another directorial venture Ekantham was selected for the Indian Panorama of 2006. The talented director had also won the prestigious Padmarajan Award, for his contributions to the Malayalam cinema.
