Happy Wedding Anniversary Aashiq Abu & Rima Kallingal
The star couple of Mollywood, Aashiq Abu and Rima Kallingal celebrate their 1st wedding anniversary today. The couple tied the knot on November 1st last year, in a simple ceremony conducted in the Kakkanad Register office, in the presence of both family members and close friends. Aashiq Abu and Rima Kallingal fell in love during the filming of the acclaimed movie 22 Female Kottayam.
The couple made headlines by deciding not to conduct grand reception to celebrate their wedding and donated a huge sum of money for the cancer patients of Ernakulam general hospital. Rima also became a role model for the brides, by deciding not use any gold ornaments for her wedding.
Several eminent personalities from various social platforms, including Justice V R Krishnayyar and actor Mohanlal, appreciated the couple’s decision, to tie the knot in a low key ceremony and for avoiding the grand wedding celebrations, unlike the other celebrities.
Aashiq Abu, who belongs to a Muslim family and Rima Kallingal, who belongs to a Hindu family, tied the knot without converting their respective religions. It was rumoured that Rima will be converting into Islam; but the couple slammed all the rumours by getting married in a register office.
Rima, who decided to be choosy about the roles she picks; is busy with her new dance school Mamangam. Aasiq Abu and both the family members are in all support for Rima, for her new ventures. It is also reported that Rima will be assisting Aashiq, in his new directorial venture. Aashiq dedicated the song Chillane from 22 Female Kottayam for his beloved wife Rima, as a wedding anniversary gift, through his official Facebook page.
