I Started Smoking For Ithihasa: Anusree

Actress Anusree says that she started smoking cigarettes for the perfection of her character in the movie Ithihasa. Anusree opened up about her experiences while doing Ithihasa, in a recent interview given to a leading daily. The actress states that she has turned into a skilful smoker after the long filming schedule.

Anusree is receiving highly positive reviews for her terrific performance in Ithihasa and is referred as the next “Action Heroine” of Mollywood. The actress played Alby, a young man who unknowingly gets the physical appearance of a girl named Janaki. As the character is a pick-pocket, who drinks, smokes and often indulge in fights, it demanded Anusree to show the body language of a real man; which was a bit hard for the actress.

It is doubtless that Anusree has done a fantastic job in the movie; as the audience and critics are equally praising the actress for her flexible acting skills. The actress is often compared to the popular actress Uravashi, for her impeccable comic timing and versatility. According to her mentor, director Lal Jose, Anusree is one of the finest actresses of current generation.

Anusree was the winner of the acting reality show Vivel Active Fair Big Break, and thus won the chance to play the lead role in Lal Jose directed Diamond Necklace. Her portrayal of Rajasree, an innocent yet talkative village girl, earned rave reviews. She later earned popularity with her works in the movies such as Red Wine, Left Right Left and Angry Babies.
