Jayaram's Swapaanam Gets Postponed!

Swapaanam, the upcoming movie starring Jayaram in the lead role, was slated to get released on 7th February. But, now the movie gets postponed. The date is yet to be announced. Jayaram is seen in a never seen before avatar in this film.

Swapaanam is directed by Shaji N Karun. The movie already got its first premier show at DIFF. It was the first Malayalam movie to get this fine opportunity. The movie also had a special screening at Padmanabha Swami theater, Thiruvananthapuram. VS Achuthanandan congratulated Jayaram after seeing the film. He said that Swapaanam is one of the best movies in Malayalam cinema so far and Jayaram's performance can be regarded as one of the finest by the actor in his whole career.

Bengali actress Kadambari plays the female lead in the movie. The rest of the cast include Siddique, Sajitha Madhathil, Vineeth and many others. Jayaram is doing the role of chenda artist (drummer) in this movie that he occasionally takes up in real life too. Swapaanam depicts the tragic life of Unni, a temple percussionist. Unni's passion for the chenda takes him through forbidden territories, challenging traditional values.

The movie was earlier slated to get released on January 24, which got postponed to February 7. Now, the date has been changed again. Meanwhile, Balyakalasakhi, Om Shanti Oshana and Salaam Kashmir are releasing on February 7.
