Joy Mathew Quits Smoking

Actor-director Joy Mathew has decided to quit smoking. The actor, who is very active on Facebook, revealed his decision through his social networking page. His post on his Facebook page has been receiving lots of funny comments and appreciations.

Joy Mathew made his acting debut in veteran filmmaker John Abraham's acclaimed movie Amma Ariyan. He took a long break from the limelight before making his directorial debut with critically acclaimed Shutter.

Shutter won the Silver Crow Pheasant Award (Audience Prize) for Best Feature Film at the 17th International Film Festival of Kerala.

He started his second innings in acting with Rajeev Ravi directed Annayum Rasoolum. The actor then essayed a major role in critically acclaimed Amen, which was directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery. He gained huge critical appreciation for his portrayal of the character Father Abraham Ottaplakkan, a rough and tough priest in the movie.

The actor has acted in some critically and commercially successful movies such as Philips And Monkey Pen, Neelakasham Pachakkadal Chuvanna Bhoomi and Zachariayude Garbhinikal. He will essay important roles in upcoming flicks such as Vikramadithyan, Munnariyippu and Sapthamasree Thaskara. He is currently filming for Mammootty starrer Rajadhi Raja and Indrajith starrer Angels.
