Kalidas
Jayaram
is
the
new
addition
to
the
big
list
of
star
kids
who
made
it
into
the
silver
screen.
Kalidas,
who
proved
his
mettle
as
a
child
artist,
will
make
his
debut
as
lead
actor
with
the
upcoming
Tamil
movie
Oru
Pakka
Kathai.
The
movie
got
officially
launched
by
the
South
Super
star
Kamal
Hassan
at
an
event
conducted
in
Chennai
today.
Along
with
Kalidas,
his
father,
actor
Jayaram
was
also
present
at
the
event.
Kalidas
made
his
acting
debut
with
the
Malayalam
movie
Kochu
Kochu
Santhoshangal,
directed
by
Sathyan
Anthikad.
He
won
the
Best
Child
Artist
awards
in
National
Film
Awards
and
Kerala
State
Film
Awards,
for
his
performance
in
the
movie
Ente
Veedu
Appuvinteyum,
directed
by
Sibi
Malayil.
In
both
films,
he
played
the
on-screen
son
of
his
father
Jayaram.
It
was
rumoured
that
Kalidas
will
be
making
his
debut
in
lead
role
with
Aashiq
Abu’s
directorial
venture;
but
Aashiq
brushed
off
the
rumours
by
stating
that
he
is
not
planning
to
make
a
movie
with
Kalidas.
It
was
also
reported
that
director
Mani
Ratnam
has
approached
him
with
a
movie
offer;
but
the
news
later
revealed
to
be
false.
Oru
Pakka
Kathai
is
directed
by
Balaji
Tharaneetharan,
who
rose
to
fame
with
his
directorial
debut
Naduvula
Konjam
Pakkatha
Kaanom.
Prem
Kumar
handles
the
cinematography.
Thaikkudam
Bridge
fame
Govind
Menon
composes
the
music.
Rest
of
the
cast
and
crew
is
yet
to
revealed.
