According to the latest reports, Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan has bagged the remake rights of recently released super hit movie Ithihasa. Kamal Haasan, who recently watched Ithihasa, is highly impressed with the movie. It is also reported that Kamal’s eldest daughter, actress Shruthi Haasan will be reprising the lead role played by Anusree in the original.

Kamal Haasan has always shown deep interest in the changing trends of Malayalam cinema and has been in all praise for the young film makers and talented actors. The actor has acted in many Malayalam movies in the initial days of his career. Kamal Haasan last appeared in Malayalam in a cameo appearance in the movie Four Friends, directed by Saji Surendran.

The veteran actor is very close with many of his Malayali co-actors and directors, including actor Jayaram, director Hariharan, and veteran writer M T Vasudevan Nair. Kamal Haasan still mesmerizes the Malayali audience with his amazing fluency in Malayalam language.

Sources states that the actor will be remaking Ithihasa under his home production banner Raaj Kamal Films International. It is also reported that one of the leading young actors of Tamil cinema is approached to play the male lead in the movie, which was essayed by Shine Tom Chacko in the original. The project is expected to have an official announcement soon.
