Mohanlal is all set to play the title character Puli Murugan, in the upcoming movie Puli Murugan, directed by Vysakh. The project will go on floors immediately after the filming of Vysakh's Mammootty starrer project. Scenarists duo Udaya Krishna- Sibi K Thomas are working on the script of the movie, which is produced by Tomichan Mulakupaadam, under the banner Mulakupaadam Films.
Mohanlal was supposed to join Madhupal's next directorial venture, after completing Sathyan Anthikad's upcoming movie; but reportedly, the project will get delayed as the scripting has not been completed yet. The actor will start filming for Vysakh's project instead.
Vysakh, who made his directorial debut with the mass entertainer Pokkiri Raja, with Mammootty and Prithviraj in leads, tasted success with his consecutive ventures Seniors, Mallu Singh and Sound Thoma. He changed his track with the latest release Visudhan, which had a serious plot unlike his earlier movies. Visudhan was a critical success; but failed to do well in the box office.
Vysakh is currently busy with the filming of his upcoming project Cousins, starring Kunchako Boban, Indrajith, Vedhika and Nisha Agarwal in lead roles. The movie will also have Suraj Venjarammodu, Joju George, Nedumudi Venu, Pradeep Rawat and Sreedevi Unni in pivotal roles. Cousins is expected to hit the theatres for Christmas.
