Prithviraj Slams Caste Name Controversies

Prithviraj addressed the controversies regarding his daughter Alankrita’s surname, through his official Facebook page. The actor made it clear that he has no intention to highlight the caste name in his daughter’s name; but feels that it should also carry the name of her mother, along with the name of father.

Prithviraj announced that his daughter is named Alankrita Menon Prithviraj, through his official Facebook page today. But the post made controversies; as the actor has earlier expressed his displeasure on keeping caste names as the second name or surname.

The actor cleared the controversies by stating that, the name “Menon” represents his wife Supriya Menon; not the particular caste. Prithviraj revealed that, earlier they had decided to name their daughter Alankrita Supriya Prithviraj, but later changed it into Alankrita Menon Prithviraj, as the former name looked odd with three first names.

Prithviraj also made it clear that, he doesn’t support the system of keeping father’s name alone as the surname for the kids. The actor feels that mother’s name should be added to the child name with prior importance; as mother is the most important person in a kid’s life. He also made it clear that he is completely against to any kind of caste discrimination and will remain the same in the future also.
