Suresh Kumar Launches Revathy Kalamandhir Film Academy

Producer Suresh Kumar, husband of actress Menaka Suresh and the owner of famous movie production house Revathi Kalamandhir, launched a new film school in Trivandrum. The film school which is named as Revathi Kalmandhir Film Academy was formally launched in an event held at Kochi, by actor Mohanlal revealing the logo.

Director Priyadharshan, who was also present in the event, gifted institution a hi-tech film camera for the educational purposes . Award winning cinematographer Sunny Joseph is the director and faculty head of the film school.

The film school initially offers five courses- Acting, Film direction & Screenplay, Cinematography, Film Editing and Sound Recording & Design. Acting is a one year course and rest are 2 year courses. Any graduates can apply for the course. Classes will begin in August.

Revathy Kalamandhir is one of the most prestigious production houses of malayalam film industry. The banner has produced about 25 movies which belongs to various genres. It was first named as Sooryodaya Creations, and later renamed as Revathy Kalamandhir in 1993. The banner also paved the way for old movie remake trend in Malayalam. The movies like Neelathamara, Rathinirvedham and Chattakkari were remade by Revathi Kalamandhir. The latest release by the banner was Chattakkari.
