Rajeev Rangan Turning Director With Makan - The Kid

Actor Rajeev Rangan, who is a familiar face to Malayalam TV audience, has a long standing desire to to direct a film. The actor, who has earlier worked as an associate to Sibi Malayil, Rajeevnath and Venu Nagavally, is all set to make his dream come true. He is set to direct the movie Makan - The Kid (MTK), which is said to be an experimental movie, which will be inspirational to many parents, whose children are affected by Down's Syndrome.

Rejeev Rangan's debut film Makan - The Kid revolves around a child named Varun played by Eldho, a 16 year old boy, who also suffers from Down's Syndrome. Eldho plays a full length character in the film. The director says that he is making the film to encourage society to treat such kids as normal ones. He also wants to create awareness in the society how such children can be trained and motivated to excel in their chosen field.

Varun is son of theatre artistes John and Bhuvana. The effort of parents to develop his individuality and the efforts centered around their child's special needs are focused in the film Makan - The Kid. In turn, it is through Varun, the parents are able to overcome a difficult phase in their life. In real life of Eldho, his parents Kuriakose and Sini cared him like a normal kid, which was the intervention needed to help him realise his potential.

Director Rajeev Rangan says that he is making Makan - The Kid not for any commercial gains. He himself is doing an important role in the film. Not many know that Rajeev is a dubbing artist and gemologist too. The movie is produced under the banner of God's Grace Movies.
