Anwar
Rasheed,
the
director-producer
has
decided
to
leave
FEFKA
and
Film
Producers
Association.
Anwar
announced
his
decision
in
the
recent
interview
given
to
SouthLive.
He
feels
that
the
associations
are
almost
non-functional.
He
states
that
FEFKA
and
Film
Producers
Association
have
been
a
maintaining
a
cold
attitude
towards
the
piracy
issues.
The
pirated
videos
and
DVDs
of
Anwar
Rasheed's
latest
production
venture
Premam
has
been
doing
rounds
since
last
few
weeks.
The
filmmaker
is
completely
disappointed
with
the
issue
and
feels
that
the
anti-piracy
cell
is
dysfunctional.
Anwar
revealed
he
has
given
the
details
of
the
shops
which
sells
the
DVDs
to
the
authorities;
but
no
action
has
been
taken
on
the
issue.
He
alleges
that
the
piracy
officers
responded
to
his
request,
stating
that
they
are
too
busy
with
other
works.
Later
he
informed
the
situation
to
the
FEFKA
and
producers
association
authorities;
but
they
failed
to
make
a
stand
on
the
issue.
Anwar
also
points
out
that
the
pirated
video
is
the
censored
copy
of
the
film.
He
states
that
the
censored
copy
was
only
available
in
two
popular
studios
of
Chennai
and
Trivandrum,
which
are
under
the
ownership
of
two
popular
Mollywood
celebrities.
The
director
confirmed
that
the
Premam
team
will
fight
against
the
piracy,
as
it
is
one
of
the
major
threat
faced
by
the
movie
industry.
Anwar
also
added
that
he
will
be
active
in
films,
without
the
membership
of
any
associations.
