Confirmed: Mohanlal As Kunjali Marakkar

After lot of speculations, Mohanlal is finally playing the historical character Kunjali Marakkar. But, the actor is not enacting the character for a movie; but for a light and sound show. Mohanlal will be playing Kunjali Marakkar IV, in the light and show conducted at the inauguration ceremony of National Games.

The light and sound show is directed by Mohanlal's close friend, director T K Rajeev Kumar. Filming of the important visuals of the show is progressing at Chithranjali Studios in Trivandrum. As per the reports, the Mohanlal will double as the narrator and Kunjali Marakkar in the show.

Director G S Vijayan is the creative consultant of the show. Popular editor B Ajith pens the script and handles the editing of the show. Sharath composes the music. Actor-dancer Vineeth is the choreographer of the show. The show will be screened in total 18 screens fixed around the stadium.

Mohanlal is also planning to launch his music band Lalisom, at the inaugural ceremony. Superhit songs from the popular Mohanlal movies will be introduced in a completely new form by the band. The band will also include some popular musicians of Malayalam cinema, including composer Ratheesh Vega.
