Verdict Against Lissy Over Father's Complaint

By Akhila Menon

Muvattupuzha Maintenance Tribunal has ordered that actress Lissy should give Rs 5500 per month to her old father. Lissy's father Varkey had filed a complaint, stating that the actress disowned him.

The tribunal has ordered that Lissy should pay off the amount from 2010 January, as Varkey has no other income sources and Lissy is a financially sound individual. The actress hasn't commented on the verdict yet.

But earlier, Lissy who slammed Varkey's allegations, had stated that he is not her father. But Varkey later defended Lissy's statements and asked her to file a defamation case and prove her statements; to which Lissy hasn't replied yet.

According to Lissy, her father's name is George and it is clearly mentioned in her school and college certificates. Her father abandoned the family and married another woman when Lissy was a child.

The actress has also stated that she was under the custody of her mother and had no connections with her father. But, Lissy failed to prove her statements at the court; thus the tribunal issued the verdict in favour Varkey.

It is a low phase in Lissy's personal life. The actress recently filed for divorce from her husband of 24 years, director Priyadarshan. The case is under the consideration of Chennai Family Court.
