Martin Prakkat Makes Acting Debut

Martin Prakkat, the popular photographer turned filmmaker, is all set to make his acting debut with the upcoming movie Nee-Na, directed by Lal Jose. He will be essaying a comical character in the movie.

After working as a fashion photographer for so many years, Martin Prakkat made his directorial debut with the Mammootty starrer movie Best Actor, which was a huge critical and commercial success.

His second directorial venture ABCD, which had Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role, also emerged as a great box office success. He introduced Aparna Gopinath into films, with ABCD.

As per the sources, Martin Prakkat is currently planning to direct an out-and-out love story, with Dulquer Salmaan and Aparna Gopinath playing the lead roles. The project is expected to start rolling from next month.

With Nee-Na, Martin Prakkat will join the long list of directors who tried a hand in acting and eventually ended up as great actors. Lal Jose and Aashiq Abu are the other actors who recently entered the list.

Nee-Na is said to be a light-hearted entertainer, which revolves the lives of two women - the highly tomboyish, alcoholic, Neena and extra-feminine, traditional, Nalini. The movie will hit the theatres by the third week of May.
