CONFIRMED: Dulquer Salmaan To Replace Kalidas Jayaram

Dulquer Salmaan, the charming actor will essay the lead role in actor-filmmaker Prathap Pothen's next directorial venture. Dulquer is playing the character, which was originally written for Kalidas Jayaram. The movie is penned by Anjali Menon.

Earlier, Prathap Pothen was planning to cast Kalidas in the project. But his father Jayaram allegedly rejected the offer, stating that Kalidas is not interested in working with old filmmakers. The issue led to a spat between Prathap and Jayaram.

The director harshly bashed Jayaram and Kalidas through his official Facebook page; which led to huge controversies. The project has been put on a halt after Kalidas rejected the offer. Now, it has been confirmed that Dulquer has been roped in for the role.

Prathap Pothen and Dulquer Salmaan confirmed the news through their respective Facebook pages recently. The title and the rest of the star cast will be announced shortly. It is expected to be the first project of Dulquer in 2016.

According to Prathap, he has always wished to direct Mammootty; but the wish has not been fulfilled yet. The director made it clear that he cast Dulquer not because he is Mammootty's son. He feels that Dulquer fits into the role more than any other actor.

It is a dream project for Dulquer Salmaan, who share a great rapport with writer Anjali Menon. The young actor is highly excited about working again with Anjali Menon and cinematographer Rajeev Menon.
