By Akhila Menon

Lal Jose, the director who is rumoured to be in a cold war with actor Mohanlal, says that he won't make roles for the superstar. He was talking in the recent interview given to Mathrubhumi.

The filmmaker says that he will approach Mohanlal with a script which suits him. Lal Jose feels that roles cannot be tailored according to the criterias of the superstars. It is the script which decides the actors.

Recently, Lal Jose has announced that he will be directing Mohanlal soon, for a project produced by Aashirvad Cinemas. The hitmaker is in search for a good script, which demands an acting talent like Mohanlal.

When it comes to the people who motivated him to start a career in direction, Lal Jose will place Mammootty at the first place. The director recalls that it was the megastar, who made him confident about his talents.

During the filming of Azhakiya Ravanan, Mammootty motivated Lal Jose to direct a movie soon. He also offered to play the lead role in the film, if the character suits him.

Interestingly, Lal Jose rejected the offer, to the much shock of Mammootty. But later, the director casted the actor in his debut movie Oru Maravathur Kanavu, which emerged as one of the biggest hits of 1998.
