Jewel Mary, the television anchor turned actress, has been criticized by the audience and media, for calling Jayaram 'aged actor'. Recently, producers of the upcoming flick Aadupuliyattam revealed that Jewel rejected the movie stating that Jayaram is an aged actor.
In a recent interview, Jewel Mary had opened up that she was unsatisfied with the script of Aadupuliyattam and rejected the movie due to the same. But the producers of the movie immediately retaliated to her comments and revealed the actual incident.
According to the producers Haseeb Haneef and Noushad Alathur, they approached Jewel Mary to play the female lead in Aadupuliyattam, as they have earlier associated with the actress in her debut movie, Mammootty starrer Utopiayile Rajavu directed by Kamal.
But Jewel made it clear that she is not interested in pairing up with an aged actor like Jayaram, who has no market value. The actress also asked the producers to replace Jayaram with Fahadh Faasil, if they want her as the heroine.
The team points out that the movie stars popular actors like Om Puri and Ramya Krishnan in the pivotal roles. So a relatively newcomer like Jewel is not eligible to evaluate the story. The banner has also decided not to cast Jewel in their future projects.
However, Jewel Mary's comments on a senior actor like Jayaram is extremely shocking and disrespectful. We would like to remind the actress, that low phases are quite natural in the film industry. We hope that Jewel will soon realise her mistake and mend her ways.
