2015
has
been
a
moderately
successful
year
for
Malayalam
Cinema.
The
industry
witnessed
some
thunderous
box
office
successes
as
well
as
some
pathetic
flops
this
year,
unlike
the
previous
years.
But
it
is
clear
that
rate
of
failures
is
higher
than
successes
this
year.
It
was
a
brilliant
year
for
the
industry
when
it
comes
to
business,
as
a
few
movies
went
on
to
break
all
so-called
collection
records.
Movies
including
Premam,
Ennu
Ninte
Moideen,
Amar
Akbar
Anthony,
etc
performed
extremely
well
at
the
box
office,
and
earned
the
critical
acclaim
as
well.
Mollywood's
journey
started
this
year
with
the
release
of
Sand
City,
the
romantic
thriller
directed
by
actor-director
Shankar.
The
industry
witnessed
approximately
126
releases
so
far.
Thilothama,
the
Rachana
Narayanankutty
starrer
was
the
last
film
which
hit
the
theatres.
Picket
43,
the
Major
Ravi
directed
movie
which
had
Prithviraj
in
the
lead
role,
is
the
first
success
of
the
year.
The
first
blockbuster
of
2015
is
the
Nivin
Pauly
starrer
Oru
Vadakkan
Selfie.
Alphonse
Puthren
directed
romantic
comedy
Premam,
which
also
had
Nivin
in
the
lead,
remains
the
biggest
hit
of
the
year.
When
it
comes
to
the
prestigious
National
Film
Awards,
2015
was
a
disappointing
year
for
the
Malayalam
movie
industry.
Mollywood
failed
to
make
it
big
unlike
the
last
few
years,
and
ended
up
with
just
5
awards.
Mammootty
and
Jayasurya
were
considered
for
the
Best
Actor
award
till
the
final
round.
The
Kerala
State
Film
Awards
were
announced
in
August;
which
was
extremely
late.
The
results
were
quite
surprising
for
both
the
audiences
and
media,
as
the
mainstream
movies
won
the
awards
in
the
maximum
categories.
Let's

into
the
achievements
of
our

have
hit

It
was
a
disappointing
year
for
Fahadh
Faasil
with
no
successful
ventures
in
his
kitty.
The
actor
had
3
releases
this
year,
but
all
the
movies
failed
to
impress.
We
hope

with
a
brilliant
film
soon.
Jayasurya

a
mixed
year
for
Jayasurya,
with
one

We
hope
that
the

will
soon
get
enough
recognition
from
the
award
juries
and
film
festivals.
Kunchacko
Boban
The
actor
had
5
releases
his
year.
We
would
like
to
appreciate
him
for
taking
up
an
experimental
movie
like
Chirakodinja
Kinavukal.
Among
the
rest
of
his
rest
of
the
movies,
Madhura
Naranga
was
a
hit;
while

other
3
failed
to
impress.

releases,
including
Amar

a
cameo

acclaim;
while
his
first
production
venture
Kohinoor
was
a
super
hit.
Rest
