The third week of April (20^th-26^th) was extremely eventful for Malayalam movie industry. Mollywood witnessed a shocking demise, Ram Gopal Varma's controversial tweets about Mammootty's acting skills, Lal Jose's revelations about the cold vibes between him and Mohanlal etc last week.

The industry didn't have any movie release last week. But the Vishu release movies continued to perform well at the box office. When it comes to the major developments of last week, the team Premam released the first song of the movie; Aluva Puzhayude Theerathu.

The song has already entered the hit charts. The movie is expected to be the next blockbuster of Nivin Pauly, who is on a high with the success of the recently released movie Oru Vadakkan Selfie.

The shocking news of the week is the sudden demise of actor-writer Mulari Gopy's wife, Anjana Pillai, who was the assistant manager at State Bank Of India, Pattom branch. She collapsed in the elevator of her apartments while coming back home after dropping her kids at the tuition center.

Another issue which made a stir in the movie industry this week was popular director Ram Gopal Varma's controversial tweets about the acting skills of Mammootty. RGV tweeted that Mammootty should hand over all his National Awards to his son Dulquer Salmaan.

He also stated that Mammootty is a junior artist while compared to his son Dulquer; to the much disappointment of Dulquer and the Malayalam celebrities. Later RGV apologized to Mammootty and Dulquer, for the statements.
