Mammootty And Johny Antony Back Together

Mammootty and Johny Antony, the popular actor-director duo is back together with yet another project. Reportedly, Mammootty will be playing an 'achayan' character in the movie, which is said to be a mass entertainer.

The upcoming movie is penned by Nishad Koya. The major portions of the movie will be majorly shot at the various locations of Pala and Idukki. The title, rest of the cast and further details regarding the project will be revealed soon.

The duo first teamed up for the blockbuster movie Thuruppugulan, in 2006. Mammootty and Johny Antony last joined hands for the movie Thappana. The movie earned mixed responses from all over and ended up as an average grosser.

It is a hard time in Johny Antony's career, as he hasn't had a successful film in last 6 years. His last few films including Bhaiyya Bhaiyya, Masters, Ee Pattanathil Bhootham, etc were a critical and commercial disasters.

The director has received heavy criticisms for his movie choices. Johny Antony tried for a change in his career track with the Prithviraj starrer movie Masters. But the film failed to do well at the box office.

Mammootty, on the other hand, is all set to release his upcoming Kamal directed movie Utopiayile Rajavu for Onam. Acha Dhin, the recently released Mammootty starrer movie, has failed to do impress the audience and critics.
