Mammootty As Durgadas In Acha Dhin

Mammootty will play Durgadas, a Jharkhand returned middle class man, in the upcoming movie Acha Dhin directed by Marthandan. Earlier, it was reported that Mammootty will be playing a nameless character in the movie.

According to the reports, Acha Dhin revolves around Durgadas, a Malayali who returns to Kochi with his wife Sheethal after a long gap of 20 years from Jharkhand, and the problems faced by him in a normal day

The movie stars Punjabi model Mansi Sharma in the female lead. The actress was roped in for the role after director Marthandan noticed her in Idea cellular advertisements. Mansi has appeared in a couple of Television series, including Mahabharath.

Reportedly, Acha Dhin is an out-and-out family entertainer. Marthandan was earlier planning to start the filming of his another project Paavada, which will have Shobana, Prithviraj, Biju Menon and Anoop Menon in the lead roles.

The filming of the movie is postponed as the lead actors are yet to finish their committed projects. Marthandan is planning to finish the filming of Acha Dhin and start the filming Paavada immediately after the release of Acha Dhin.

Acha Dhin will have Padmaraj Ratheesh, Manianpilla Raju, Renji Panicker, Kishore, P Balachandran, Kunjan, Molly Kannamali etc in the supporting roles. The movie penned by Vijeesh is produced by George under the banner Cin Cil Celluloid.
