in
the
Tamil
movie
industry.
The
actor
will
play
the
lead
role
in
the
upcoming
movie
directed
by
National
award
winning
director
Ram,
who
has
earlier
directed
the
movies
Kattradhu
Thamizh
and
Thanga
Meengal.
Mammootty
ventured
into
Tamil
industry
in
2010,
with
T
Aravind's
Vandematharam.
The
actor
played
Gopikrishnan,
a
tough
police
officer,
in
the
movie
which
was
an
out-and-out
action
thriller.
Vandematharam,
which
also
had
popular
actor
Arjun
in
the
lead
role;
was
a
box
office
disaster.
The
actor
made
his
Tamil
movie
debut
with
popular
Malayalam
director
K
Madhu's
Tamil
venture
Mounam
Sammatham.
The
achieved
stardom
in
the
industry
with
Azhagan,
directed
by
veteran
director
K
Balachandar
and
Mani
Ratnam's
Thalapathi,
in
which
he
shared
screen
with
superstar
Rajnikanth.
It
is
the
fourth
directorial
venture
of
Ram,
who
made
a
mark
in
the
industry
with
his
acclaimed
movies.
He
is
currently
working
on
his
upcoming
movie
Taramani,
which
will
Andrea
Jeremiah
in
the
central
role.
If
things
fall
in
place,
the
filming
of
the
Mammootty
starrer
will
start
by
the
month
of
June.
Director
Ram
himself
pens
the
script
for
the
movie.
Yuvan
Shankar
Raja
will
compose
the
music.
The
title
of
the
movie,

and
